The WoW Forever beta runs from September 17 through October 21, 2026, according to the official product page checked on October 8. Entry depends on the access attached to your account, with an opt-in opportunity and beta access advertised among eligible product benefits. The global release follows on November 4, so a testing invitation and permission to play at launch need separate checks.

01

Beta dates and the global release

Blizzard gives November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST as the global launch time, equivalent to 11:00 p.m. UTC. Early name reservation runs from October 27 through November 3, after the published beta window closes. Treat those as three separate events when planning time with friends, since a beta login does not establish a reserved launch name.

Name reservation is first come, first served, and the official page explicitly says a desired name cannot be guaranteed. Its benefit applies to the specific WoW account for which it was purchased. Check that account before organizing a group around names you have not yet secured.

02

Check how your account receives access

The official website offers an opt-in for a chance to beta test, which is an application rather than a promise of admission. It also advertises beta access in its product comparison, so read the benefits and conditions for the actual edition attached to your account. Avoid using a subscription receipt, an installed client or somebody else's invitation as a substitute for your own entitlement information.

World of Warcraft: Forever requires a WoW subscription or game time for normal play. The Skyborne Epic Pack and Warcraft Forever Collection include 30 days of game time, with further play requiring a subscription or additional time. That launch benefit should be read separately from the conditions that allow a specific account into the beta.

03

Use the official installation and account information

Blizzard lists an internet connection, a Battle.net account and the Battle.net desktop application among the requirements to play. Start from the official Forever product page and the application associated with your own account, then read the available game versions and access status. If Forever is missing, confirm the signed-in account and entitlement before treating the problem as a damaged installation.

This guide does not provide a tested sequence of installation screenshots or a verified error-code repair procedure. A useful support report records the client version, the account region, the visible message and when the failure occurred. Consult official notices and support information for that specific symptom before changing files or repeatedly downloading the game.

04

Skyborne access and character planning

Access to the Skyborne race and the Zephras Isle starting questline requires the Skyborne Heroic Pack or a higher edition. The announced starting experience covers levels 1 through 12, and Skyborne choose the Horde or Alliance at character creation. A general subscription requirement therefore does not establish that every account can use that particular race and starting experience.

Blizzard describes Normal, PvP and Roleplaying rulesets in its systems overview, with Hardcore coming after launch. Players can group within their ruleset, while factions remain separate and grouping across different rulesets is not supported. Discuss those choices with friends before settling on characters, then check what is actually offered by the beta client.

05

Launch invitations are different from beta invitations

The Invite-A-Friend Launch Code grants an eligible invitee access from November 4 through November 11. Qualifying purchases can award one or more codes, emails begin on October 20, and gift purchases are excluded. The official support article contains additional restrictions, so confirm eligibility there before promising an invitation to another player.

These are product-access invitations, not a verified list of public reward or redemption codes. No public reward code has been confirmed in the official material used for this guide. A launch invitation also does not establish that its recipient can enter the September-to-October beta.

06

Choose useful things to test

The official class deep dives warn that abilities and talents may change during beta. Testing a class's early abilities, a quest objective or a shared campsite can still help you understand the version you are actually playing. Record the build and the conditions when describing a result, because a changed tooltip or quest can make an older observation incomplete.

Prepare a small test goal instead of assuming every announced launch feature is currently available. For example, compare a talent's description with its observed behavior, or note whether a quest can be accepted and completed on your character. Keep an announcement, a visible menu entry and a successfully completed test as separate observations.

07

Progress and launch preparation

Pending confirmation: The material cited here does not establish a beta-to-launch character transfer policy. Do not plan purchases, professions or a launch group around an assumed transfer of levels, inventory or names. Recheck the official progress policy when Blizzard publishes or updates it.

Before launch, confirm your account's play time, your group's ruleset and faction, and the local equivalent of the global release time. Keep beta access, early name reservation, Skyborne eligibility and a launch invitation as separate items in that preparation. This gives you useful decisions to make without promising server availability or unchanged beta rules.
